The craziest of endeavors, Virgo from the 80s to today

EGO and Virgo open their doors to the public to celebrate together the 10th anniversary of the discovery of gravitational waves!

On Tuesday, November 4 at 4:30 PM, join us at the EGO Auditorium for a special event taking place during Virgo Week, the periodic meeting of the Virgo Collaboration.

The event will feature a roundtable discussion with some of the key figures of Virgo’s history who worked alongside Adalberto Giazotto and Alain Brillet, the founding fathers of the experiment. Together, we will revisit the milestones that led to the first historic detection of gravitational waves, a discovery that forever changed our understanding of the Universe.

Among the guests: Pia Astone (INFN Rome), Fulvio Ricci (INFN Rome), Nicolas Arnaud (IP2I Lyon), Angela Di Virgilio (INFN Pisa), and Diego Passuello (EGO).

This will be a unique opportunity to hear their stories, uncover the behind-the-scenes of this great scientific achievement, and feel part of this scientific community.
