Antonella Bozzi, head of EGO’s IT Department, has passed away

EGO and the entire Virgo Collaboration mourn the loss of Antonella Bozzi, a key figure for Virgo since its construction. She joined EGO in 2001 and, since 2007, had been head of the IT Department, which manages the computing, storage and network systems at EGO and provides the IT infrastructure for the control of the Virgo interferometer and the management of its data. 

All those who knew her remember her great kindness and her commitment to helping her colleagues, beyond just IT. The IT Department remembers her as a capable coordinator, who was able to create a collaborative group, leaving room for everyone’s skills and supporting everyone’s professional growth. 

Her humanity, strength, kindness, pragmatism and sense of humour touched all those who had the privilege of working with her, and her contribution to the history of Virgo will forever remain part of our collective memory. We join Antonella’s family, friends and all those who knew her in mourning.
