Announcing the Virgo Award, a yearly prize for Early Career Virgo Members
The Virgo Collaboration is pleased to announce the Virgo Award: a prize that will be awarded annually to Early Career Virgo Members who have made a significant and sustained contribution to the experiment.
The winner will be determined by the The Virgo Award Committee, composed of outstanding experts in the field of gravitational wave physics: Lisa Barsotti, Monica Colpi, Gabriela Gonzalez, Frank Linde, Nary Man (Chair) and Andrea Vicerè.
Members of the Virgo Collaboration are invited to nominate other members (who have no permanent position or a tenure track) by sending an email to to awc@ego-gw.it, with a brief bio of the candidate assessing their current position and a motivation in support.
The winner will receive a medal or a diploma as well as 1000 Euros (before taxes), awarded in a public ceremony during the November 2021 Virgo Week.
Nominations for the 2021 award are now open and will stay open until July 31st 2021.
