On 16 April 2021 the Tuscan regional selections of Famelab, the international science talent show, will be held in the Sala Azzurra of the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. EGO, together with the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN), Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Scuola Normale Superiore and University of Pisa, is one of the institutions organising the event.

Famelab Pisa is aimed at young people aged between 21 and 40 who study or work in the scientific field and who want to challenge themselves in telling the public about a scientific topic, or their own research, in three minutes in an engaging, convincing and scientifically rigorous way. A jury of science and communication experts will select the two winners, who will compete with the other regional winners in the national selection in Catania.

Before going to Catania for the national final, which will be held from 3 to 5 June 2021, the two finalists from Pisa will take part in the Famelab Masterclass, a prize-winning training workshop in science communication and public speaking that will be held in Perugia from 13 to 15 May 2021. Finally, the winner of the national contest will compete with winners from all over the world at the FAMELAB International Contest, to be held in September 2021 in Cheltenham, UK, as part of the Cheltenham Science Festival.
