Einstein Telescope at the Venice Biennale

The project to turn the Sos Enattos disused mine in Sardinia into the new home of Einstein Telescope is the protagonist of one of the installations of the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale. To accompany the installation a series of events will be held in person and online:

– September 7th, 2.30 PM – “Grandi infrastrutture di ricerca, una risorsa per le comunità e i territori” with INFN president Antonio Zoccoli, Martina dal Molin, researcher at GSSI, and Massimo Faiferri, architect and professor at University of Sassari


– September 7th, 3.30 PM – “Landscapes of knowledge, archittetura e apprendimento” with architects Massimo Faiferri and Giancarlo Mazzanti

– September 7th, 4.30 PM – “Una nuova idea di spazio: un dialogo tra fisica e architettura” with Eugenio Coccia, rector of GSSI, Stavros Katsanevas, director of EGO, and architect Gonzalo Byrne.

– September 10th, 11 AM, “Einstein Telescope: scienza, architettura e impatto sociale della futura infrastruttura per la ricerca sulle onde gravitazionali” with Marica Branchesi, professor of the Physics Area of GSSI, Fernando Ferroni, professor and director of the Physics Area at GSSI, Michele Punturo, international coordinator of ET and INFN researcher, and Luca Deidda, researcher at University of Sassari who conducted an impact study on ET.

All these talks are organized by INFN, GSSI, EGO and ecourbanlab – ILS scientific school of
University of Sassari. They will take place in the Italian Pavilion of the Biennale and streamed on the Facebook page @ItalianPavilion2021, the language will be Italian.
