Luca Della Santina, an engineer and former top manager at the Region of Tuscany, is the new administrative director of the European Gravitational Observatory (EGO) in Cascina, which hosts the Virgo gravitational wave interferometer.

Della Santina began his tenure at EGO this week and will head the administrative department, responsible for accounting and budget management, human resources, European Projects, and procurement.

“I am very pleased to undertake this assignment at an excellence research centre, such as EGO, whose international relevance is a great asset for our region,” said Eng. Della Santina. “Putting my experience at the service of frontier research will be a new challenge for me and, I trust, profitable for all.
